THANKSGIVING

On the fourth Thursday of November, Thanksgiving is celebrated all over North America.

As we are learning about culture and traditions in countries where English is spoken, we learnt about this celebration. The English and Religion teachers worked together to explain about the origins of this holiday: George Washington, as president of the United States of America, proclaimed the first nation-wide thanksgiving celebration in November 26th, 1789.

After learning about Thanksgiving, we had a snack of sharing food and we remembered that we are studying about fractions, so most students brought things and divided them in parts. We had a great first Thanksgiving.

Then, we made our wishing trees and we gave thanks for the things we consider important in our lives.

LENGUA: Las palabras polisémicas son aquellas que tienen varios significados. Practica con ellas haciendo los ejercicios 1, 2, 3, 4  y 5 de la página 65.

LENGUA: Mañana tenemos el examen de las unidades 3 y 4. Repasa todos los ejercicios, los cuadros explicativos del libro y tus composiciones.

 

MATEMÁTICAS: La próxima clase será el lunes 25 de noviembre. Tenemos los ejercicios 19. 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27 y 28. Recuerda: haz los ejercicios poco a poco, tienes cuatro días. Si empiezas a hacer ejercicios y te cansas para, y al día siguiente haces otros.

LENGUA: Tendremos el examen el viernes, así es que repasa con estas actividades: página 56, ejercicio 1, página 57 ejercicio 1 y página 60 ejercicos 4, 5 y 6. Escribe en el libro de composiciones las instrucciones de un proceso que tú elijas.

MARTES 19/11/13

Hoy ha sido un dia doblemente especial. En la primera clase hemos asistido a una charla sobre primeros auxilios y hemos aprendido que nuestra ayuda puede ser muy importante en un caso de emergencia. Gracias a la ponente: Reyes Torres Mancha, por su profesionalidad y paciencia para enseñar a nuestros niños de manera cordial, amena y  significativa. Recordad nuestra actitud ante una emergencia:

Durante la cuarta sesión nos ha visitado un experto en reciclado de vidrio. Nos ha enseñado de forma divertida y también significativa que es muy importante reciclar el vidrio y que nuestro gesto ecológico supone un importante papel en el ciclo del reciclaje del vidrio. Recuerda:

LENGUA: Escribe en tu libreta de composiciones sobre el "Odio". Tal vez no debería ni ir en mayúscula, ya sabemos el porqué. Puedos hacerlo en forma de cuento en el que aparezca este sentimiento en alguno de los personajes, o puedes hacer una redacción para definirlo.

LENGUA: Hoy ha sido un día ajetreado, así que nada mejor que un poco de reflexión y aprovechamos para escribir un cuento : " El niño que no sabía comportarse en clase".

MATEMÁTICAS: Estamos terminando el tema 3: La división, así es que nada mejor como un poquito de repaso. Haced las actividades siguientes de la página 50: 63, 64, 67, 69, 71, 75, 76, 77 y 78. El resto las haremos de forma oral en clase mañana.

DELICIOSOS BOCADILLOS

Érase una vez una familia muy pobre que vivía en un pequeño pueblo en la montaña. Los nueve hermanos vivían como niños felices en una casa cerca de la muralla del gran castillo que presidía su pueblo. Allí pasaban largas horas del día jugando e imaginando que eran caballeros y que pronto vendrían tiempos mejores en los que todos tuvieran abundancia y comida que llevarse a la boca.  La madre alimentaba a sus hijos como buenamente podía, a veces sólo conseguía darles un trozo de pan, pero los niños tenían mucha imaginación, y le decían a su madre:

- Madre, no se preocupe usted, hoy, merendaremos pan con chocolate.

Cogían el trozo de pan y corrían hacia el centro del pueblo. Allí había una fábrica de chocolate. Los niños se sentaban en las ventanas de la fábrica e inspiraban el dulce olor del chocolate. ¡Qué deliciosa merienda!

Jugaban con lo que su imaginación les proporcionaba, cajas de cartón eran sus caballos y palos de madera sus espadas. Así pasaron los años, los niños a veces no tenían tiempo para jugar, porque debían ayudar a sus padres en casa y cuidando unos de otros, pero los años fueron pasando y casi no fueron conscientes de que se iban metiendo en un mundo de mayores  con grandes responsabilidades. Los niños aprendieron así a esforzarse y a luchar para conseguir todo aquello que deseaban. Aprendieron a ser fuertes y así fueron felices, porque en la humildad de su familia aprendieron lo importante de la vida. Aprendieron a valorar el amor de sus padres y hermanos y la suerte que habían tenido al pertenecer a una gran familia en la que pudieron aprender a compartir, amarse y a ayudarse unos a otros.

LENGUA: ¿Has autocorregido tu dictado ( página 53)?, recuerda hacerlo. También termina los ejercicios 5, 6 , 7 y 8 si no tuviste tiempo en clase. Recuerda, las esdrújulas se acentúan siempre y tienen la sílaba tónica en la antepenúltima sílaba.

SCIENCE: Write sentences with the words we clasified in activity two. Just in case, these are the words: the sea, fresh water, on land, shell, exoeskeleton , big, small, enormous, symetrical and irregular.
You also have to look up seven words in the dictionary.

MATEMÁTICAS: Resolución de problemas, página 48, ejercicios 48, 49 y 50. Aprende a aprender, página  49, ejercicios desde el 52 hasta el 61.

LENGUA: La tilde en las palabras esdrújulas, página 52, ejercicios 1, 2, 3, y 4.
ENGLISH: Describe an old object. Ask your parents or grandparents about the information. Your description has to give this information: What is it like?, Where is it from?, What is it made of? and  How old is it?

ENGLISH: Please, finish activities number 4 and 5. Page 14 and 15. Activity book.

LENGUA: Vuelve a leer la explicación de las palabras homófonas y haz  los ejercicios 1,2,3 y 4. Página 51.

CIUDADANÍA: Debemos tener en los portátiles dos redacciones. La primera "Ponte en la piel de otro" y la segunda " El árbol que daba zapatos de colores" o "Las flores de nuestro planeta". Si no tienes alguna de ellas, hazlas en casa en sucio y mañana las podrás pasar en clase a tu carpeta de "mis documentos". 

PIN THE NOSE ON THE PUMPKIN

THURSDAY 31^ST: Halloween day. Most children were wearing their costumes. We played “pin the nose on the pumpkin, to learn to follow instructions.  

BOBBING APPLES

As it is a bit difficult to play bobbing apples in the class, we placed the apples on the tables and then we ate them without using our hands. It was great fun. We also sang the song “5 little pumpkins and learnt about the feelings"

 

 

 

HEAPS OF TREATS 

Halloween snack. Pupils brought something to share with the rest of the class. They brought popcorn,  biscuits, muffins, chocolate bars , sweets and candy. We learnt the song "Halloween, Halloween, What does it mean?" And then we had “heaps of treats".
